(多峯主山) Mt. Tonosu Hike

The twin to Mt. Tenran, Mt. Tonosu is a less easy hike that affords a nice stretch away from the city. I honestly think I can see Mt. Fuji from the summit, but I'm also near sighted so I'm not that confident.

  • JPY1,300. Train, Edogawabashi Station < > Hanno Station (JPY650 one way)
Hike Date / Difficulty (Elevation: 197m / 646ft)

*I did this hike covering a couple of mountains in the range that the signs call "Hanno Alps". However, the trails are quite straightfoward, with plenty of signs all over. I'm adding the pictures for Mt. Tonosu and Mt. Tenran*

Starting the picture log with the summit of Mt. Tonosu. A whopping 271meters!

View from the summit - Saitama? Is that the ocean?

The summit area. It had two tables to the left, and that marker. Behind me (in front of the marker) is the trail to Mt. Tenran.

Do you see Mt. Fuji? No? Drats.

The path down Mt. Tonosu.

Beautiful walk.

It really was a nice stroll.

The rather long set of stairs to Mt. Tenran. There were a lot of trailrunners going up and down this path.

Continuing on with the stairs.

Finally, Mt. Tenran!

Facing the marker, I turned right. This view welcomed me.

There's one path at this point, and I just followed it.

Beautiful autumn foliage in mid December. From here on, there's really just one road and google maps can be used (google maps pin). I just started walking back to Hanno Station.
